Mustered into Company D at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Appointed Assistant Regimental Surgeon in October 1861.
Captured (apparently) at Murfreesboro, TN in December 1862 and released at
City Point, VA in April 1863.
Rejoined regiment in May 1863.
Captured, apparently at Pocotaligo, GA in January 1865.
Forwarded to Ft. Delaware, DE, then to Camp Hamilton, VA.
Exchanged in March 1865.
Member of Terry Lodge, Regimental, Masonic Chapter.
Captured a total of four times, according to Claiborne.
Attended the 1875 Terry's Texas Rangers Regimental Reunion at Barton's Springs.
Died August 15, 1881.
Cousin of D. O. Hill, Co. D, and R. T. Hill, Co. D.
