Born in Scott County, KY 1838.
Moved to TX with family in 1850.
Possibly resided at Harris County, TX. (Jones Roster)

Musterd into Company B at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Elected 1st Corporal.
Promoted to 3rd Sergeant by August 1862.
Acted as clerk on Brigadier General Wharton's Staff by April 1863.
Suffered severe arm wound at Waynesboro, GA, very likely on Decmeber 4, 1864.

Married Mary Bell Weir on December 13, 1876.
Died in San Antonio, Texas, in 1885.

Second cousin to J. K. P. Blackburn, Co. F.
