Born in TX around 1843.
Resided at La Grange, Fayette County, TX in 1860 with parents and two siblings; occupied as a student.

Mustered into Company F at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Present in February 1864.
Suffered two or three wounds, including slight battle wound near Dalton, GA on May 9, 1864.
Captured 1st Wisconsin Vol. Cavl. Colonel Oscar H. LaGrange on May 9, 1864.
Captured and drowned near a bridge on the Saluda River near Columbia, SC, likely on February 17, 1865 (Jones Roster).
LB Giles described him as among the "best" soldiers in the regiment and "leader of the alarmist jokers." (Jones Roster)
