Suffered two or three wounds, including slight battle wound near Dalton, GA
on May 9, 1864.
Captured 1st Wisconsin Vol. Cavl. Colonel Oscar H. LaGrange on May 9, 1864.
Captured and drowned near a bridge on the Saluda River near Columbia, SC,
likely on February 17, 1865 (Jones Roster).
LB Giles described him as among the "best"
soldiers in the regiment and "leader of the alarmist jokers." (Jones
Roster)
