Elected 2nd Lieutenant.
Promoted to 1st Lieutenant by January 27, 1862.
Recruited for regiment in TX during spring (possibly March) of 1862.
Promoted to Captain on May 7, 1862.
Killed in skirmish near railroad trestle along Elk River, near Bethel, TN
on May 9, 1862.
