Daniel E. Holcombe

Born in NC around 1838.
Resided in Belmont, Gonzales County, TX in 1860 with a relative; occupied as a school teacher and farmer.
Described as 6'0" with sandy hair, fair complexion, and hazel eyes.

Mustered into Company I at Houston, TX on September 11, 1861.
Elected 2nd Corporal.
Discharged in March 1862 due to chronic laryngitis and other conditions.
Reenlisted as a private at Gonzales, Gonzales County, TX on February 1, 1863, sworn in by Lieutenant Parramore.
Served on special duty by December 1863.
Wounded at Cassville, GA, probably on May 24, 1864.
Present in August 1864.
