Born on June 16, 1837 in Gwinnett County, GA.
Graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA in July 1858.
Admitted to the Bar in Gwinnett County, GA.
Moved to Waco, McLennan County, TX and opened a law office.
Possibly resided at Bosque County, TX in 1860.
Musterd into Company A at Houston, TX on September 25, 1861.
Elected 3rd Lieutenant.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant by January 27, 1862.
Suffered gunshot wound through body in the charge at Fallen Timbers near Shiloh,
TN on April 8, 1862.
Led 15-20 men on scout in July 1862.
Commanded Wharton's Scouts (aka Gordon's Scouts), apparently as Captain, from
January 1863; the unit formed as a part of Wharton's brigade.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant by December 1863.
Reduced in rank to 3rd Lieutenant by February 1864, and listed as present.
Married Kate Maltbie in 1868, and had three daughters.
Occupied as a merchant in Lawrenceville, GA.
Died in Lawrenceville, GA on April 28, 1874 due to flareup of complications
with Fallen Timbers wound.
