Born at Petersburg, VA around 1832.
Resided at Clinton, DeWitt County, TX in 1860 with wife and relative.
Organized DeWitt Rifles in April 1861.
Mustered into Company E at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in May 1862.
Commanded company by July 1862.
Promoted to 1st Lieutenant and/or Assistant Quatermaster in November 1862.
Present, commanding company in February 1864.
Present as Lieutenant in August 1864.
May have served in General Hood's staff as Captain in "secret service
duty" in late 1864 or January 1865 (Scott's Thesis).
Suffered gunshot wound to shoulder at Griswoldville, GA on November 22, 1864,
as Lieutenant.
Recovered by December 1864.
Promoted to judge advocate at unknown date.
Paroled at Demopolis, AL on June 6, 1865.
