Born in Europe around 1837.
Resided in Bastrop County, TX.

Mustered in with Company D at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Suffered a broken collarbone when his horse was shot near Woodsonville, KY on December 17, 1861.
Hospitalized at Nashville, TN.
Serving as an orderly on General Wharton's staff in November 1862.
Mortally wounded by "friendly fire" near Murfreesboro, TN on December 29, 1862.
Died from erysipelas infection resulting from gunshot wounds to thigh and chest.
