Born in AL around 1830.

Mustered into Company D at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Elected Captain.
Lost election for Colonel position to J. A. Wharton in January 1862.
Furloughed after battle at Shiloh, TN in April 1862 due to 2-month bout with diarrhea.
Present by May 1862, and briefly commanded regiment.
Absent at Rome, GA in July 1862, preparing to go to TX.
Promoted to Major in October 1862.
Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in November 1862.
Absent in November 1862 due to ulcerating rectum.
Absent in Texas during December 1862.
Returned from absence in TX in March 1863.
Possibly promoted to Colonel by April 1863.
Commanded force that captured about $100,000 greenbacks in attack on railcar in April 1863.
Arrested in May 1863 to face court-martial in Tullahoma, TN due to unknown circumstances.
Resigned June 25, 1863 due to disabilities.
James Nicholson indicated that the resignation was rejected in June 1863.
Resignation ultimately approved.
Departed possibly in August 1863.

Died in Fayette County, TX in 1868.
