Born in Alabama.
Resided in Gonzales County, TX.

Mustered into Company C at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Elected 2nd Lieutenant.
Resigned February 1862 due to severe head injuries, loss of use of right arm, and rheumatism to right shoulder as a result of being thrown from horse near Bowling Green, KY.
Died near Decatur, AL in March 1862.

Possible brother of: A. W. Dunn, Co. C; H. F. Dunn, Co. C; Harrison V. Dunn, Co. C.
