Born at Liberty County, TX around 1840.
Possibly resided at Liberty County, TX.
Described as 5'9" with sandy hair, fair complexion, and hazel eyes, and occupied as a stockraiser.

Mustered into Company I at Beaumont, TX on September 27, 1861, by Capt. Jones.
Discharged in March 1862 due to chronic rheumatism.
Reenlisted in Green's Brigade at LA.
Killed at the battle of Mansfield, LA, on April 8, 1864.

Brother of Aaron M. Dunman, Co. K & Robert L. Dunman , Co. K, and three other brothers who served the Confederacy in other units.
