Born in MS around 1838.
Resided in Salt Stream, Gonzales County, TX in 1860 with relatives, occupied
as a stockkeeper.
Mustered into Company E at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant by February 1862.
Reduced in rank to 3rd Lieutenant in June 1862.
Received flesh wound to arm near Nolensville, TN on December 25, 1862.
Missing and supposed captured at Woodbury, TN in October 1863.
Captured and executed by detachment of Federal troops led by Colonel William
B. Stokes' 5th TN Cavlary, near Sparta, White County, TN on March 12, 1864,
along with four other Rangers he commanded. (This event is commonly referred
to as the Massacre at Sinking Cane.)
