Resigned in December 1861 due to illness.
Reenlisted with the 36th Texas Cavalry in early 1862.
After the war, worked as a professional gambler then saloon
owner in Abilene, KS.
Moved from Brenham, TX to Abilene, KS between 1869 and 1871.
Killed in Abilene, KS in 1871 by James Butler (Wild Bill) Hickok.
