Born in Bastrop County, TX around 1842.
Resided in Bastrop, Bastrop County, TX in 1860 with parents and four siblings.

Mustered into Company D at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Absent in TX in July 1862.
Promoted to 3rd Corporal by April 1863.
Returned from absence in July 1864.
Received gunshot wound, fracturing his thigh near Florence, AL (and/or near Mussel Shoals) during skirmish on north side of Tennessee River on September 7, 1864.
Recovered in private home.
Paroled at Meridian, MS on May 10, 1865.
