Listed as 5'9" with light hair, a dark complexion, dark eyes, and occupied as a stockraiser.

Mustered into Company E at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Discharged due to measles and other illness in February 1862.
Reenlisted, in Company I, on October 12, 1862, at Gonzales, TX, and sworn in by Lt. Jones.
Transferred back to Company E in July 1863.
Promoted (possibly) to Lieutenant in "cadet" unit.
