Born around 1841.
Moved to TX from family plantation near St. Francisville, West Feliciana Parish,
LA in late 1860 or early 1861.
Possibly resided at Gonzales County, TX. (Jones Roster)
Mustered into Company E at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Captured three times.
Captured at Murfreesboro, TN on December 31, 1862.
Forwarded to Camp Douglas, IL.
Forwarded to and exchanged at City Point, VA in April 1863.
Present in February 1864.
Returned to TX.
Married Sarah Jane Foster in Polk County, TX.
Moved to Ozona, Crockett County, TX; successful rancher and founder of Ozona.
Died by 1882.
Family history indicates that he had all daughters, one of whom he disowned after she married the son of a man from MA who had hired a substitute to fight for him during the war (for the North).
