Transferred to Captain Pete Tumlinson's unit of the Texas Rangers.
Participated in 1859 expedition against Juan Cortina at the Los Cuevos battle.
Resided in Karnes County, TX; occupied as a ranger and/or cowboy.
Described as 5'8" with dark hair, dark complextion, and hazel eyes.
Mustered into Company C at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Promoted to 3rd Corporal in August 1862.
Suffered gunshot wound to arm at Murfreesboro, TN on December 31, 1862.
Captured at Fayetteville, NC on March 10, 1865.
Forwarded to Hart's Island, NY.
Paroled at Hart's Island, NY in June 1865.
Member of Shannon's Scouts.
Married Jane Elizabeth Johnston on July 4, 1866.
Drove cattle up the trail to Dodge City, KS.
Died May 16, 1914 (another source states October 7, 1919).
Buried Old Cotulla Cemetery, Cotulla, La Salle County, TX.
