Resided at Matagorda, Matagorda County, TX in 1860 with mother and four siblings; occupied as a clerk.

Mustered into Company B at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861.
Wounded in the charge at Fallen Timbers near Shiloh, TN on April 8, 1862.
Promoted to 4th Sergeant by August 1862.
Present in January 1863.
Received slight wound to leg by March 1865.
