Moved with family to Clinton, Dewitt County, TX in 1852.
Graduated from military school.
Resided at DeWitt County, TX in 1860 with father and two siblings; occupied
as a merchant.
Mustered into Company E at Houston, TX on September 12, 1861.
Acted on detached duty in December 1861.
Wounded in the leg when the regiment was shelled by artillery after moving
into an open field at Shiloh, TN on April 6, 1862.
Received furlough.
Recovered and returned to regiment by June 1, 1862.
Present by November 1862.
Promoted to Quartermaster Sergeant by November 1862 to at least September
1863.
Present in September 1863.
Departed for TX from Greenville, NC on June 10, 1865 without parole.
Settled in Victoria, TX in 1866.
Founded first bank in Victoria County, TX.
Married Miss Kate Fleming McDow on August 23, 1870 in Victoria, TX.
Acted as deacon and elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Victoria, TX.
Acted as president of the school board in Victoria County, TX.
Mason and Knight Templar.
Member of the Benevolent Order of Elks.
Member of the W. R. Scurry Camp of Confederate Veterans.
Visited Nashville, TN in 1897.
Elected president of the Terry's Texas Rangers Association in 1899.
Died at Victoria, TX on January 26, 1906 due to illness.
