Born at TN in 1831.
Moved to TX in 1855.
Resided at Raney's Creek, Coryell County, TX in 1860; occupied as laborer/farmer.
Described as 5'11", dark hair, dark complexion, and dark eyes.
Married Louisa between 1860 & 1870, most probably 1860 or 1861.
Mustered in with Company A at Houston, TX on September 25, 1861.
Promoted to 4th Sergeant in December 1861.
Wounded during the Sunday afternoon encounter with the enemy near the boggy
ravine at Shiloh, TN on April 6, 1862.
Discharged (apparently) in April 1862 due to battle wounds (gunshot to the
left breast causing inability to use left arm).
Hospitalized at Richmond, VA in March 1865.
Claiborne lists him as 3rd Sergeant.
Resided with his older sister in 1880; and son Edward resided with (daughter)
Mary Jane and her husband Moses K. Turner.
Attended the 1902 Ranger Reunion; his residence was listed as Gatesville, (Coryell County), TX.
Admitted to the Confederate Home on August 6, 1906 due to lung trouble.
Died on January 20, 1907 at age 76.
Buried in the Texas State Cemetery.
